I have to say I’ve been a certified MWBE for over thirty years, and most recently as a Consultancy serving the MWBE community, one of the most critical things about making the MWBE program work is mindset. We understand the need for MWBE programs and feel strongly that without them the opportunities for a firm of our size and capability would be limited. That said, these programs are not perfect but complaining about them are waste of time. I am from the mindset that words have power – so if you say negative things about the programs or feel negative about them, then your experience with the program will be negative – that is universal law.
Through MWBE participation goals, I have been able to develop relationships with government agencies, private corporations and prime contractors that have directly impacted our bottom line.
