Are you ready to take the next step towards having a complete understanding of blueprints and specifications?
Last month, the NYC Department of Small Business Services and Jean Kristensen Associates held a webinar specifically aimed at helping small construction firms (especially MWBEs) gain a baseline knowledge about blueprint reading in the construction industry. If you want to land a government contract, you need to read the blueprints, specifications, and other technical documents included in bid packages.
This month, we plan on continuing into more details with the Blueprint Reading/Specifications II webinar!
Blueprints, commonly referred to as drawings, are used by government agencies to convey a wide range of information to potential contractors. This info could include site work layouts, building layouts, electrical wiring, structural/foundation layouts, equipment location, and much more. Depending on your area of expertise, you might be called on to read blueprints and specifications regarding HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, or electrical. They will convey exactly what the owner/government agency wants, which is key knowledge to know if you can fulfill their needs.
If you’re a newly-minted construction firm looking to expand your business by working with government agencies, then having a comprehensive understanding of these blueprints and technical documents is a must. This webinar will be especially helpful for specialty contractors focusing on mechanical/HVAC, and the electrical and plumbing trades.
Those who attended the first part of the Blueprint Reading/Specification webinar are highly encouraged to join us in part 2, but the webinar is also open to those who already have the baseline knowledge they need and want to grow their understanding! The Blueprint Reading/Specifications II webinar will be held on April 22nd, 2021, from 10 AM to 12 PM EDT. It’s free to attend, but we highly suggest that you register ASAP to guarantee your spot. We will send you a WebEx link 24 hours before the start of the event to remind you!
