MAKE THE DECISION TO STOP STRUGGLING

Here is what one of my teachers and guides said during a training session this week, “I made the decision to stop struggling, and in that moment everything changed for me”. He went from nothing to owning multi-million dollar global training school. When I heard this statement, it immediately caught my attention because it just makes so much sense. I thought about how during periods of uncertainty, many of us tend to focus on the struggle and how hard things are rather than choosing to see the opportunities right in front of us. Trust me I am just as guilty as anyone of doing this, however when I heard the message I chose to embrace it and share it. What if we stopped and thought about the many opportunities that were right in front of us that perhaps we did not act on and how it was impacting our businesses. What are some of the habits and patterns that might be holding us back?
Here are some examples:
• A feeling of Overwhelm (too much to do not enough time to do it)
• Lack of Follow-up – no real system for consistent follow-up
• Lack of Focus – too many projects, dreams, ideas (none fully implemented or completed)
• No Accountability – there is no support system for accountability
• Poor time management – reaction mode, putting out fires
• Worry/Self-Doubt – a feeling that there is not enough time, money or clients. You or you or your firm are not good enough, you don’t know enough
Does any of this sound familiar? If it does, know that you are not alone and that many business owners face similar challenges every single day. What I have learned in my own business and from other successful business owners is that having a system of support is critical. Find a mentor, a coach that has walked a similar path and has been successful at what you are trying to accomplish. Use that person or their systems to provide you with guidance, support and accountability. Realistically, I have come to the realization that business does not have to be a struggle if you have the right tools, systems and support in place.
Finally, even though you may think of yourself as struggling there is someone out there that could really benefit from your experience and expertise. Giving is one the surest ways to attracting more abundance in your life. Take a moment to consider is there a way that you could give back, share your knowledge or experience. This does not have to be a huge deal, it could be a post on social media, a call to a friend, speaking engagement or volunteering at a local charity. Make the decision today to stop struggling!
